Downtown Hickory averages 2,700 employees in the area.
On average, there are 1,720 people visiting Downtown Hickory every hour!
Our Christmas Parade brought in approximately 14,000 visitors in 2023. Year-over-year increase: 15%
Oktoberfest, approximately 57,000 visitors in 2024 during the 3 day festival. Year-over-year increase: 6.5%
The Farmers Market brings in approximately 560 visitors on Saturdays and 155 visitors on Wednesdays.

Hickory Downtown Development Association is charged with administering the program at the local level and building public-private partnerships to spur economic development that achieves measurable results such as investment, business growth, and job creation.
