Public Input Meeting for Future Sandy Pines Park

The City of Hickory is developing a master plan for the future Sandy Pines Park, which is located on a 13 acre tract of property in the northeast quadrant of Hickory. Alfred Benesch & Company has been hired to create the master plan.

In an effort to gather essential public input regarding the park, a drop-in workshop is being held on Thursday, September 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Highland Recreation Center (1451 8th St. Dr. NE). Citizens are encouraged to come by anytime during these hours to share their desires for recreation, health, fitness opportunities, and any items of concern."

"Public participation is such an important aspect of developing this type of plan for a city park," said Parks and Recreation Director Mack McLeod. "We encourage all interested residents to come out and share their ideas and thoughts about the project."
