The Edison Project is sponsored by the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce and is a celebration and recognition of the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the area. The program recognizes entrepreneurs with an innovative, viable business idea for Catawba County.
The competition includes a 'Pitch Your Idea' to a panel of Angel Investors and commercial bankers portion, a Business Plan portion, and concluded last night at Final Public Presentation to the community. The seed investment incentive is a $10,000 for 1st place, $5,000 for 2nd place and $3,000 for 3rd place.

All finalists and applicants for The Edison Project, regardless if they walked away with prize money, have the opportunity to continue their goal of establishing their start-up business through ongoing training, mentoring, workshops and assistance from area business consultants, coaches from Small Business Center at CVCC and the Small Business Technology and Development Center coordinated through the Chamber.
