Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) is hosting a Shark Tank Business Idea Pitching event for local high school students with cash prizes for the top pitches. Schools can host their own competitions, or individual students can enter their own idea by completing a Shark Tank Application which can be found at the CVCC Small Business Center website.
Top finishers at school competitions and the best individual entries will present their ideas to a panel of judges at a final Shark Tank competition held at CVCC on Tuesday May 15. Through the support of the L.B. Lane Family Foundation and the CVCC Foundation, the first place pitch will receive a $200 prize, the second place pitch will receive $100, and the third place pitch will receive $50. Applications from individual students are due by May 7, and application forms can be found at http://sbc.cvcc.edu.
