Downtown Hickory Art Crawls are sponsored by Boyd & Hassell Industrial Commercial Real Estate and the United Arts Council of Catawba County.

 

The Art Crawl begins at the Full Circle Arts Kick-Off Party and the route continues through four walkable blocks of Downtown Hickory. We're proud to present the downtown businesses hosting regional and local artists.

1. Full Circle Arts

hosts the Kick-Off Party at 5pm at 42-B Third Street NW (828-322-7545). The Tiny Art Show is in full swing with the opening reception happening. The works of Full Circle Arts members are highlighted.

2. Hatch's Sandwich Bar

268 First Avenue NW, (828-322-1196), has a diverse menu of unique sandwiches and beverages. Acoustic sets from Kevin Lee Smith are featured.

3. Grace Communion Church

266 First Avenue NW (828- 292-7306), presents Cathy McCoy (clay jugheads), Marsha Hoffman (folk art), and Chuck Bodnar (watercolor paintings).

4. Elegance Furniture Boutique

221 First Avenue NW (838-1011), features furniture painting demonstrations and a Michael Jackson impersonator.

5. Harris Arcade

221 First Avenue NW, (828-322-5090), hosts the paintings of Mike Ogle in his second floor studio.

6. Glazzy Girls Stained Glass

in the Harris Arcade, 221 First Avenue NW, (828-781-3779), demonstrates the art of making stained glass creations.

7. Splentique Fashion Boutique

in the Harris Arcade, 221 First Avenue NW (828-228-3758), offers a Splentique Trunk Show with Wood & Button and Wendy & Company.

8. Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse

29 Second Street NW (828-234-4266), has delicious coffee, muffins, and more. Featured artists are Arianna Mascetti (jewelry), Suzie McGee (quilling), Amy Weaver (photography), Lori Dixon (books & soaps), Casey Allen (painting), and Ruby Orton (painting).

9. Trade Alley Art

25 Second Street NW, is an artist-owned Co-Op with 26 featured artists who exhibit daily.

10. Fanjoy Labrenz Photography Studio

215-A First Ave NW, 828-324-8330), opens their studio for viewing their versatile images.

11. Olde Hickory Station

232 Government Avenue SW (828-322-2356), has a new spring menu and more than 50 craft beers on tap. The Station hosts Matthew Strawn (Intaglio Printing).

12. Larry's Music & Sound Teaching Studio

266 Union Square (828-261-0415), exhibits the oil and acrylic paintings of Karen Stinson.

13. Anders Ruff Workshop

264 Union Square, (805-458-2549), features the watercolors of Crystal Witherspoon.

14. Bottega~A Soulful Place

256 Union Square (828-217-2581), hosts Kent Paulette (oil paintings), Len Rusnek (ceramics), Matt Wright (graffiti art) and Hannah Grace (paintings).

15. Thistle Dew Nicely

252 Union Square, (828-322-3242), hosts the woodwork of Tom Denne and metal sculptures by John Ross.

16. Foot Solutions

242 Union Square (828-328-9844), has a Board Certified staff to assist you with your footwear needs. Reverend Robert Roach exhibits watercolors with pen & ink details. Rodney Smith of MUD Shack Pottery demonstrates his pottery techniques on Union Square in front of Foot Solutions.

17. Hickory Wine Shoppe

238 Union Square (828-324-4441), hosts oil paintings and cigar box guitars by Selina Setzer and the musical sounds of Centerpiece Jazz Guitar Duo.

18. Artisan Soapery

234 Union Square, (805-704-8701), brings you the wooden spoons of Two Green Thumbs and More.

19. Bisque n Beads

232 Union Square, (828-324-4244), is a place to be creative. Classes and special events are offered regularly. Acrylic paintings by Ernie Sills are showcased.

20. Tracy's on the Square

228 Union Square (828-322-6651), has a wide selection of apparel, jewelry, shoes, and tuxedo rentals. The watercolor art of Zan Thompson is highlighted.

21. Under the Sails on the Square

find Brandon Pope and his aerial photography.

22. The Natural Olive

216 Union Square (828-256-1950), offers a vast selection of Extra Virgin Olive Oils, flavored oils and vinegars for all your culinary needs. The mixed metal assemblages and unique jewelry creations by Ellen Ball are featured.

23. Girl Scouts Carolina Peaks to Piedmont

208 Union Square, (800-672-2148), hosts face painter Carla Young and her face art.

24. Attitudes Salon

204 Union Square, (828-327-9010), features the artwork of Eugenie Fein.

25. Olde Hickory Tap Room

222 Union Square (828-322-1965), serves delicious food with a wide selection of fine spirits, wine, and award-winning beer.

26. The Hickory Community Theatre
